Soft, In the Good Way

Soft has a reputation problem, usually earned by mattresses that let your hips sink until your lower back does all the work. That's not this bed.

The SK-2602 gets its softness from depth, not weakness. There's 10.5 cm of quilted comfort above the springs, including 6 cm of dense #30 high-resilience foam under the memory foam. You sink into a plush surface and then stop — supported, not swallowed.

Three Things That Matter

1 · 2.0 mm 8-Turn Pocketed Coils

Each spring is wound with 8 turns​ rather than the usual 5–6, and sits in its own fabric pocket so it moves independently. More turns means the coil flexes in finer increments — it responds to light pressure at the shoulders as readily as to heavy pressure at the hips, instead of resisting until a threshold is crossed.

Every spring moving on its own also means the mattress responds point by point. Weight is distributed where it actually falls, and movement is absorbed at the source​ — a partner turning over doesn't send a ripple across the bed.

2 · 10.5 cm of Quilted Comfort

• 3 cm #20 comfort foam​ — softens the surface immediately
• 1.5 cm #32 gel-infused memory foam​ — pressure relief at the shoulder, hip and lower back; gel helps carry heat away
• 2500# polyester fibre wadding​ — a generous loft layer quilted with the foams above, adding plushness and locking the fill in place
• 6 cm #30 high-resilience foam​ — the deepest support layer in the range. It takes the load from the comfort layers and spreads it evenly across the coils — this is why the bed feels soft without bottoming out

Quilted into one panel rather than stacked loosely, so the surface stays flat and even over time.

3 · 7 cm of Foam Around the Edge

The perimeter is where ordinary pocket spring beds fail first — and soft beds fail there fastest, because more of the surface is compressed. This one uses a 7 cm-wide #35 high-density foam encasement: a solid foam rail, not just heavier springs. Sitting on the edge feels solid, the full width is usable, and the bed resists the outward bulge that develops over years.

The Cover

• Top:​ 350 gsm jacquard knitted fabric — quilted with a tufted dimple pattern and finished with a dark piped edge. It stretches with the comfort layers, holds its quilting, and feels soft rather than papery.
• Base:​ non-slip fabric — grips the frame, so the mattress doesn't drift off-centre.

Best For

Side sleepers · lighter body weights · anyone who finds medium or firm beds feel like lying on the mattress rather than in it · guest rooms, where a soft bed suits the widest range of visitors.

Who should look elsewhere:​ back and stomach sleepers, and anyone over about 200 lb (90 kg) — a soft surface lets the pelvis drop, which is what makes a lower back ache. Our medium-soft and firm models will serve you better.

Care & Delivery

Single-sided — never flip it, just rotate 180° every 3–6 months. Arrives compressed and roll-packed in one reinforced carton: sleepable within hours, full height in 24–72 hours. A faint new-mattress smell for a day or two is normal; ventilate and it clears.

At 31 cm this is a tall mattress — deep-pocket or "extra deep" fitted sheets​ are recommended. Standard sheets may not tuck fully under the corners.

Because the comfort layer is thicker than a standard bed, give it two to three weeks to settle — it will feel slightly softer as the foams break in.

FAQ

How soft is it?​ Around 4 out of 10 — our softest model. The surface gives generously, then the dense support layer underneath stops you. Plush, not saggy.

Will I sink in too much?​ The 6 cm #30 high-resilience layer is specifically there to prevent that. You get the soft surface without bottoming out against the springs.

Is 31 cm too thick for my sheets?​ It's about 12 inches, so deep-pocket or "extra deep" fitted sheets are recommended.

Do I need to flip it?​ No. Single-sided — just rotate head-to-foot every few months.
