There's a reason hotel beds are memorable. It isn't a single magical material — it's a balance: a surface soft enough to settle into, support that keeps you level, and a bed that stays quiet when someone else moves.
The M-2601-C is built around that balance. A quilted comfort layer sits over a full set of individually pocketed coils, giving you a genuinely medium-soft feel — around 4.5 to 5 out of 10. Soft enough to meet you at the shoulder and hip, supportive enough that your waist never drops.
The comfort layer is quilted, not stacked — which changes both how it feels and how long it lasts:

Below the comfort layers sits a full set of 2.0 mm individually pocketed coils (approx. 14 gauge). Each spring is wrapped in its own fabric pocket and moves independently, so the mattress responds point by point — the coils under your hips compress appropriately, the ones under your calves barely move.
Two things follow from that. Weight is distributed where it actually falls, so the surface stays level instead of hollowing out in the middle. And movement is absorbed at the source, so a partner turning over on the other side doesn't send a ripple across the bed.
Ordinary pocket spring mattresses fail at the perimeter first — sit on the side and it feels like a slope. This one runs three rows of heavier 2.2 mm coils (approx. 13 gauge) around all four sides.
Sitting on the edge to put your shoes on feels solid. The full width is usable, so a Queen genuinely feels wider. And the bed resists the outward spread that develops over years of use.
Medium-soft is the sweet spot for side sleepers and lighter body weights — enough give at the shoulder and hip to keep pressure off the joint, with enough support underneath to keep the spine level. It also suits anyone who finds firmer beds feel like lying on the mattress rather than in it.
If you sleep on your back or stomach, or you weigh over about 230 lb (105 kg), you'll probably want something firmer.
This is a single-sided (no-turn) mattress. The comfort system is built into the top only; the base is a non-slip structural layer. No flipping schedule, no "which side is up" question at 2 a.m. Just rotate it 180° (head to foot) every 3–6 months for the first couple of years.
It arrives compressed and roll-packed in a single reinforced carton. Unbox, lay it on the frame, cut the wrap, and let it expand: sleepable within hours, full height in 24–72 hours. A faint new-mattress smell for the first day or two is normal — ventilate the room and it clears.

How soft is "medium soft"? Around 4.5–5 out of 10. Clearly cushioned on first touch, but it doesn't swallow you. Best for side sleepers and lighter body weights.
Will I feel my partner moving? Less than on a traditional open-coil spring bed. Individually pocketed springs absorb most movement before it crosses the mattress.
Do I need to flip it? No. Single-sided — just rotate head-to-foot every few months.
Is a box spring required? No. It works on a platform bed, slatted frame, box spring or adjustable base.
How long until it's ready? Sleepable within hours; full height in 24–72 hours.
